hands and huskers = bathroom delay...

last week i had only one day off in between trips. the morning was spent doing the usual laundry, house tidying, and repacking my suitcase. the afternoon was all set for lounging on the couch and catching up on some recorded TV. however, that is not what i ended up doing.

i received a phone call from matt letting me know that our carpenter friend wanted to get the bathroom cabinets installed the next day. uh, not only was the bathroom not painted yet (and it HAD to be painted), the ceiling wasn't patched, and the electrical wires were sticking out of the wall...my heart started racing and panic set in. i really really really wanted the cabinets installed and OUT of my kitchen, but how was i going to accomplish all that work??

i realized that the ceiling could be patched later and went ahead and painted it a nice crisp white. the electrical could easily be completed later as well so i went ahead and painted the walls a nice creamy beige-ish white. then matt came home from work just as i was finishing up the second coat and informed me that our friend wouldn't be able to make it after all, as he was heading out of town on a super fun boys weekend. uh, what?

i went on my work trip and our friend went on his boys trip. i poured coke and served peanuts and he drank beer and broke his hand. oh yes, you read that right. B R O K E N. i am praying that it only takes one hand to install cabinets.

oh, and football aka 'husker' season is upon us. i was just informed that every weekend for the next ten weeks is pretty much spoken for. oi veh!

Oh, I'd officially be bugged....thought of Matt the other day as we drove our Jetta across the country.....through Nebraska. Michael almost bought him a Husker Mug to let him know we were thinking of him. :)
