flickr informed me recently that in order to have more than three albums i must upgrade my account. okay, i don't need to make more albums, i'll just add pictures. then flickr informed me that in order to add more pictures and have them saved i must upgrade. uh, what happened to this free site? i guess it was never free. they get you to like it, they get you to spend hours uploading, they get your friends and family to join, then they tell you to pay up. well, out of pure principle i decided not to upgrade. sorry folks, this amateur photographer will not be adding any more pictures to flickr. i will keep my account strictly for our future photo contests...which we should really start up again!!
i now have a shutterfly account displaying my pictures. i have a link to the right for easy access. enjoy!

That is a nice page! Maybe we'll do that!
flickr has always clearly stated that basic (free) accounts are limited to 3 albums and they'll only display the most recent 200 photos. Also free means they'll resize your photos to save storage/bandwidth.
shutterfly puts advertisements on your photo pages, which I'm sure helps them offer more service at no cost to you. I'd like to see what that service includes, specifically photo resizing.
we get a flickr pro account free with AT&T DSL, but otherwise $25/year is reasonable for what they do (notably hosting photos at high bandwidth and taking backups so I don't have to worry about losing a disk).
i would just like to point out that i did say, 'i guess it was never free'. i don't read, therefore i never saw the warnings. big whoop! i'm still not coming back! did i mention that i LOVE ads? they're awesome!
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! I'm glad that you "stalk" but even more that you said hello. It's so nice to "meet" you. Any friend of Katie's is a friend of mine :D
I really like your shutterfly page. I feel a little tempted already..... The thing that I hate about flickr are all the crazy people who add me as "friends". But I do love the inspiration I find there.
