monkey see, monkey do...

a few weeks ago i was introduced to pinterest and i heart it. i used to think it was fun to scour the internet and discover new things on my own, but now i think it is much more fun to let others scour the internet for me. it is so easy and addicting. i like this *repin*, i like that *repin*, this is awesome *repin*, i can make that *repin*...you get the idea. it's like one stop shopping without the buying, a chalkboard to-do list without the chalk, a virtual "forget me not" note.

so now that i found a place that stores pretty much every single thing (that i deem great) imaginable, my DIY list has grown exponentially. after narrowing down what i really wanted to accomplish, opposed to just what i thought was neat, it was finally time to start checking off some of those projects on my pinterest-to-do-list.

saw this hanging book display in a magazine first, forgot about it, then rediscovered it as a pin. i made two but have only put one up so far, the second will be hung above the first.

i thought this birth announcement canvas was such a cute idea, but didn't want to spend the money. i made mine using picnik and printed it on photo paper at costco. since i had the frame already my final cost was only three bucks!

this poster idea was spotted on zulily, but i didn't want to spend the money for the biggest size print that i required so again i used picnik and costco to make it my own. we already owned the frame and final cost for this project was eight dollars.

i did my own research for an appliqued tie onesie, found this tutorial to be of great help, and i think it turned out fabulous.

on the same site that i found the appliqued tie onesie tutorial i saw this cute idea for name art. executed it this weekend for a friend that's having a little girl, and it turned out awesome.

i guess you can say i've been a little busy bee monkey lately.

I am totally in love with pinterest. Nathaniel has joked that I'm no longer allowed to use the word in the house because every time he asks where a new recipe came from or where I got the idea for something, the answer is "pinterest". :)

I am seriously impressed with how busy you've been. I hadn't looked closely at the book slings before, but I really like that! I may have to repin yours! Ha.
