my dad is full of good ideas...

when my parents came to visit us at the beginning of march i had a 'TO DO LIST' for my dad. instead of having him just fix everything, i got some much needed advice on how to fix things myself.

one problem i faced was installing our new doorknobs. i had bought doorknobs that were bigger than what were currently there (who knew they came in sizes?), and had been using a hammer and chisel to enlarge the opening. after several hours dedicated to each knob and one nasty cut later, i knew there had to be an easier and better way. dad's advice was to use a file and even picked one out at the store before he left.

let me just say that it not only worked wonders, it took less time, made less of a mess, and caused no injuries. i just saved myself an hour and forty-five minutes today. thanks dad!!
