weekend getaways...

last weekend i headed up north (way up to wisconsin, oh ya der hey) to enjoy a little time with family. we borrowed a huge cabin at camp manitowish in boulder junction for a nice long weekend of fun in the snow. there was plenty of sledding, fort building, cool night walks with star gazing, board games galore, and even a little drinking and wine tasting. we also threw brooke a nice little baby shower since we were all gathered together. and although i had a fantastic time with everyone, i am not afraid to say that i have had my fill of snow/cold for the season.


this weekend matt and i jumped on a plane early friday afternoon to enjoy a little getaway in one of our favorite cities, san francisco. we had no definite plans, our only goal was to have a relaxing time. we took a bus across the golden gate bridge to sausalito and a ferry ride back to the city that took us right by alcatraz. we wanted to drive to muir woods and see the giant redwoods but we didn't have a car nor did we have the time. however, we did a LOT of walking, plenty of site seeing in the city, and found ourselves utterly exhausted both nights of our stay. we were thankful that it didn't rain despite the constant cloud cover, and i was reminded once again just how much i love the warmth of the sun.
