look what i did...

prior to jackson being born i decided to start a few projects. i was out on medical leave for eight weeks before the big day so i had a bit of time on my hands. yes, i could have just sat around and waited for the arrival of baby, but twiddling my thumbs really wasn't very exciting. these thumbs (and fingers) of mine could be put to better use so i got out my crochet hooks and got to work.

wonder what i made? well, i was able to complete several stuffed animals. started with the idea of just making a few stuffed bunnies for baby-to-be and ended up with an entire zoo. they were just so stinkin' cute i had to make them all. in our collection we have: a giraffe, a parrot, an octopus, an elephant, a dog, a frog prince, a pumpkin boy, a girl, a monster, a duck, an owl, a monkey, and two bunnies. also made a second giraffe that we gifted to cousin charlotte. yeah...eight weeks is a long time.

by the time i was done with all of those animals i was tired of making little things. i decided to start something a bit bigger and an afghan sounded like a doable project. i was closer to my due date and beginning a bigger project...definitely didn't think that one through. i did not finish before jackson was born but am happy to say that less than nine months later I AM FINALLY DONE! granted it's over one hundred degrees outside right now, but we look forward to curling up underneath it come december.

So I want to start a FB club page showcasing our (mostly you!) stuff. Called 'We Could Make That'. What do you think?

No fair. You rock. Good thing you didn't post pics of the animals, I'd be jealous. :)

I love it! I haven't crocheted in ages, but that makes me want to pick it up again. I think it would fit better into my bits of spare time than sewing does these days... Fun. Thanks for the inspiration!
