ready...aim...smile...

we have a confession to make: we've never had formal family pictures taken. ever. i know, it's shocking. what with our raw beauty and all you'd think we'd have them done all the time. right? more like yeah right. i married a man who freezes in front of the camera lens and a had a son who becomes stone faced in front of a stranger. now to give these two guys some credit, we do have some nice pictures of the three of us, they just weren't taken by professionals...and i craved me a professional family picture.

the photographer we choose came highly recommended, i liked her work, and hoped beyond hope she could work her magic on us. i wanted the experience to feel casual and not staged. i wanted to be outdoors, where the boy would be happy and the husband would not feel trapped. i wanted someone to just let us be us, and after meeting her i knew we had chosen well. we had a great session and i couldn't be happier with the results.

aren't these just too adorable for words? so in my opinion when it comes to that perfect family picture, professional is definitely the way to go. even if i was a neurotic mess the whole time thinking that they weren't going to turn out. yes, even i have issues when it comes to picture taking. ;)
