life is full of surprises...

i came home last night to a surprise birthday party. friends, dinner, cake, the works! kiera and jay greeted me at the door and a feast was waiting on the table. honestly i thought i'd be making my own cake this year, but matt came through with my absolute favorite, a jello cake. (i will be enjoying it all week long for sure!) how blessed am i to have such a thoughtful husband?! thanks matt!

thanks also to all those that sent me birthday wishes. i forgot that grams puts the confetti in the card and it exploded all over our counter. i think i was still staring at the envelope and wondering if she really knows my new last name or not (spelled MALANA on the envelope) when i opened it up. i'm beginning to think that Pilana doesn't sound so bad...ah well. happy 27th to me!
