today i met two munchkins on my flight from tampa to phoenix. apparently they've moved from the land of oz to arizona...who knew?yes, they were the real deal. i got autographed photographs from both of them. one was a fabulous black and white of the good witch, dorothy, and a bunch of the munchkins. the other was in technicolor of just munchkins (not as sharp a picture, but neat all the same.)
the first woman is Ruth Robinson, she was a munchkin villager and singer. she was only 13 at the time of filming.
the other woman is Margaret Pellegrini, she was one of the little girls who woke up in the nest (has a blue flowerpot on her head in the movie). she was 15 years old when the film was made.
it was so cool to actually meet two of the actors from one of my all time favorite movies!!!
