fogo de chao...
my sister kate had plans to visit us last friday through the middle of this week. unfortunately those plans were quickly foiled by freezing cold weather and a car that wouldn't start. that afternoon she gave us a call and delivered the bad news...news that we refused to take. matt got online and researched her flight options and together we gave her the encouragement she needed to repack, drive to chicago, and get on a plane. a little less than twenty four hours later she was here in phoenix, enjoying the sun and seventy-five degrees of happiness. first order of business after picking her up was to change her out of her WINTER boots and jeans. (yes, we are back to wearing flipflops and shorts. unseasonably warm here in AZ!!)
we did as many outside activities as possible while she visited. we went to a few frisbee golf courses, took a walk along the PF Changs Rock n' Roll Marathon course, hiked Camelback Mtn and Squaw Peak, we even ate and played board games outside on our patio.those activites required hearty meals so besides enjoying the oranges off of our tree, we grilled homemade burgers, smoked a chicken, and made a yummy pot roast in the crockpot. and i only mention this because she took a picture of her dinner plate every night. :)our time together was over too soon and it was hard to say goodbye. good times, lots of laughs, awesome visit!fogo de chao kate!
