i had my second trimester ultrasound today and we are happy to report that baby is continuing to measure up right on schedule. the heart has all four chambers, there are two very nice kidneys, the spine and brain look good, and all four limbs are growing nicely. the only thing we didn't really get to see was baby's face. today of all days, baby decided to be camera shy. in fact, baby stayed back side up, "mooning" the tech and myself, for an entire forty minutes.
by the very end of the appointment baby did give us an ever so tiny profile view. however, both arms were flung across the face and even with 3D imagery we could only make out the nose and lips. i guess baby figured that if we could wait until birth to discover the gender, facial features could be a surprise as well.
