i have the next two days off from work. airline work anyway. but every time i turn the corner there seems to be a mountain of house work to do. if it's not cleaning then it is repairing. ah, ownership should come with a BIG warning label.
i finished installing all the trim work in our house yesterday. when dad was visiting, he kindly measured and cut the final pieces for me. all i had to do was paint and install them. well, if you remember the last time i had to install trim, it was a combination of bent nails and glue. needless to say, i have learned since then and had no problems.
in addition to trim, i bought some new door knobs the other day. take old knobs off, put new on. yeah right. nothing that has to do with remodeling comes easy for me. apparently they make really big door knobs these days and the holes in our bedroom doors are too small. my solution to the problem was to take a wood chisel and chisel out the space. this project takes about 2 hours per knob. i do about one a week, because by the end of the installation i hate doors.
today i am thinking about painting. i have one room in the house left and it is the den. matt and i can't really decide on a color which means that i will most likely just pick one out at the store. my sensors are pointing me in the green direction....matt reminded me that we already have two green rooms. huh. it's a good color, who cares. if anything, i will get the ceiling done today, that color we can agree on.

Did I mention that we have re-painted our kicthen three times in three years? Since you last visited we repainted it a very pale grey and LOVE it. See our shutterfly halloween pics - to see our new kicthen color!
