airports, airplanes, and flat stanley...

since flat stanley's arrival i have been home from work
and have enjoyed taking him on adventures around arizona.
however, i was due to go back to work on thursday
and explained to flat stanley that i would be gone for a few days.

i described my job as a flight attendant,
how it takes me far and wide, across the united states and back again.
he thought my job sounded really fun and asked to come along.
how could i refuse?

flat stanley took in all the airport sights riding atop of my suitcase.

here he is going through security checkpoint.

flat stanley and i got special permission
to walk around the outside of the airplane.
here he shows off his airline wings next to the nose of a Boeing-737.

he wanted to show everyone how big the engines were,
and was able to sit right inside one!

next to the tail of the airplane. thanks southwest!

the pilots welcomed flat stanley into the cockpit.
he was careful not to touch the controls.

here we are waiting for the plane to take off. buckled in for safety!

enjoying some peanuts and an orange juice during the flight.

flat stanley got a good view of Mount Hood, the tallest mountain in oregon.

checking out the Grand Canyon on the flight home. wow!

flat stanley told me that although it was fun to fly around
the country with me, he was glad to be back in arizona.
i couldn't agree more.

cities that flat stanley flew to:
San Antonio, TX
Dallas, TX
Amarillo, TX
Birmingham, AL
St. Louis, MO
Salt Lake City, UT
Portland, OR
Phoenix, AZ
